Recognizing When it is Time to Change Direction

It wasn’t easy, but I came to a realization that led to a big decision. While working with my coaching buddy, it dawned on me that my niche wasn’t working anymore. As much as I believe in empowering women so they can work toward achieving their loftiest goals, right now, that is not what women are focusing on. At least, the executive and administrative assistants were not the ones I was targeting.

The world is in flux right now, and these ladies are more concerned with keeping their jobs and having a steady paycheck rather than climbing the corporate ladder or making a career change. They feel unsure about their future at their firms, and it causes them distress and worry. In a word, they are suffering from anxiety.

It is not just women who feel it; unless you are super wealthy and secure, you think about the prices of groceries, housing, and heat and electric bills.

I asked people to put aside their concerns about basic needs and focus on achieving goals to increase their self-esteem. Anyone aware of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs knows that it is almost impossible to jump levels. Individuals must feel secure before focusing on higher needs, such as belonging to a community and attaining achievement.

It wasn’t easy, but I decided to focus more on what potential clients need right now rather than what will be good for them in the future. A big part of anxiety issues is not being present but instead worrying about the future. A lot of that worry is about issues we cannot control, but we can control how we deal with them.

Although I am not a therapist, I know many methods of dealing with anxiety that the average individual experiences. I thoroughly believe that if someone has chronic issues, then the best place for them is with a licensed mental healthcare professional. However, numerous people have needs that can be addressed using mindfulness techniques, meditation, hypnosis (yes, I am certified), and cognitive behavioral methodologies.

If you are reading this and need someone to help you through this tough time, or if you know someone else suffering, get in touch with me. I have years of experience and a strong background. All it takes is that first step. The information is below.

Even if you are uninterested, I can offer you some free help. Take a moment just to be still. Take a deep breath and clear your mind. Let yourself have that time of peace.

You are not alone. Millions of people are feeling the stress. We will get through this; we are resilient, and you can develop the grit needed to survive and thrive.
